The North Platte City Cemetery, located at 800 Rodeo Road, was established at a meetings held on December 13, 1872 and June 13, 1873. At that time the North Platte Cemetery Association was organized, and five acres of land were purchased. In 1884, the Association bought an additional ten acres of land from Mrs. William F. Cody, wife of Buffalo Bill. The current cemetery consists of 30 acres, with an additional 15 acres that are undeveloped.
