North Platte Telegraph, 7 March 1896
Martin Van Brocklin, who has been in the city several weeks
receiving medical treatment, died at the residence of his daughter,
Mrs. A.D. Orr, at 9:45 last evening. Mr. Van Brocklin was a highly
respected citizen of this county, having resided near Elizabeth post
office a good many years. He was well known in this city and county
and was looked upon by all his acquaintances as a man of honor, and
integrity. The community mourns the loss of a good citizen, and he
will be greatly missed in the south part of the county where he was
looked upon as the adviser, counselor and friend of all of his
neighbors.
